One of the most interesting emerging conductor in European scene, Daniele Squeo is General Music Director of Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern since 2020/2021 season. In 2022 he debuted with Anna Bolena at Opernhaus Zurich, where he was invited back for two productions in 2023. In 2024 he debuted at Deutsche Oper Berlin and at Semperoper Dresden, then invited back by both companies.

After graduating in piano from Conservatory “Nino Rota” in Monopoli (Italy), he studied orchestra conduction at Hochschule fűr Musik “Franz Liszt” in Weimar, where he attended masterclasses by Steven Sloane, Roger Norrington and Sylvain Cambreling, and where he graduated with honor.

A winner of several international competitions, including the 5th Operetta Competition at Leipzig Opernhaus and in 2011 the 18th Competition of “F. Capuana” Foundation for Young Conductors from European Union in Spoleto, where he conducted of La traviata at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in 2012.

Daniele Squeo has regularly collaborated with the following orchestras: MDR Sinfonieorchester of Leipzig, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Neue Philarmonie Westfalen, Musikcollegium Winterthur, Badische Staatskapelle, Orchester der musikalischen Komödie Leipzig, Jenaer Philharmoniker.

In 2014 he has been nominated Second Kapellmeister at Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where in 2016 he has been promoted to First Kapellmeister. In Karlsruhe he conducted such productions as Der Freischütz, Meyerbeer‘s Le Prophète, Fantasio by Offenbach, Turandot, Pelleas et Melisande, Faust, Roméo et Juliette, La bohème, Tosca, Adriana Lecouvreur, I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Gluck’s Iphigenie en Tauride, Die Zauberflöte, Le sacre du printemps and Apollon Musagète by Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky’s The sleeping beauty, as well as several symphonic concerts.

He also conducted Frau Luna by Lincke at Leipzig Opernhaus, Die Zauberflöte at Daegu Theater (Korea), a new production of La Cenerentola at Theater Basel, Lucrezia Borgia at Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow Il barbiere di Siviglia and Rigoletto at Bregenz Festival.
